Lake Grace Engineering was established in July 1999 when directors Clint and Tracey Earnshaw saw a need in the Lake Grace area of Western Australia for general agricultural repairs and maintenance.
Within a few years they were getting asked about building new seed and fertiliser bins and self-propelled augers.
With a background in the marine industry, Mr Earnshaw could see the need for a well built long lasting product, but most painting systems on agricultural gear did not lend themselves to fertiliser applications.
So Lake Grace Engineering used sandblasting and two pack painting systems.
Twenty years on, those first built products with normal care are still looking good.
"As the years have progressed, so too have the features and build quality on our products," a company spokesman said.
"We have become leaders in seed and fertiliser chassis, mounted bins, and mobile self-propelled augers.
"Lake Grace Engineering badge the products under the Earnshaw name and have started to push into the eastern states.
"We have augers in South Australia, New South Wales and a seed fertiliser bin in Tasmania."
Mr Earnshaw said after going to Speed Field Day for the last two years, as well as Gunnedah and Henty, that their brand will slowly build a presence for farmers who want a quality, easy to use family heirloom piece of equipment.
"We aren't wanting to be the biggest manufacturer," he said.
"But, we want to supply to farmers who want a quality product and don't want to be constantly replacing their gear.
"We are putting a lot of stainless steel into our bins now.
"We were the first to use stainless steel auger barrels in WA.
"We now use stainless steel flighting, shaft ends and pipes.
"Every bolt in the bin is stainless as well as our clean out doors and hinge points.
"We can also do full stainless steel sheeting in the whole bin."
Earnshaw Ag Products (Lake Grace Engineering) will reimburse flights for two people to WA on placement of a bin order or flights for one person on placement of an auger order.
