Difficult times bring strength, and thus it was for James, Nicki and Pat Pearce, YavenVale Poll Herefords, Adelong when they offered 97 bulls for their 21st annual sale which attracted determined bidding.
Top price at $16,000 was paid by Victorian breeders David Meikle, Tarwin Poll Herefords, Meeniyan and Jan and Geoff Coghill, Ke Warra Poll Herefords, Moorooduc.
The nineteen-month old son of Limehills Streaker attracted their attention for his 'very balanced set of numbers', according to Mr Meikle.
"He has good solid carcass traits and is a complete package with eye appeal which is important," he said.
"His good set of numbers back his physical appearance."
Mr Meikle said the bull will also introduce a genetic outcross to each of their studs.
Sale average for the 94 bulls sold was $6170.
The sale was settled by GTSM, Patrice Vale, Victoria with company principal Michael Glasser taking the bids.
