You might know it as the capital of country music, but there are some other treats to enjoy in the Tamworth region this Autumn.
April will see the region celebrate the inaugural Taste Month, offering a whole month of foodie bliss including special events, experiences, menus and markets celebrating the unique food and drink offerings in the broader region.
Preparations are also in full swing for the new-look annual Taste Tamworth Festival, to be held from Friday, April 17, to Tuesday, April 21, as a key part of the Taste Month celebration.
Aromatic scents, authentic flavours, crisp wine and cold beer, coupled with the magical autumn backdrop of yellow, orange and varying shades of red are just some of what you'll experience at this year's festival.
"The festival will again celebrate local growers, makers, chefs and diners, and show off the best produce from around the region," a spokesman said.
"In its ninth year, the festival is back stronger than ever, with favourite events like Taste in the Park and The Long Lunch making a return.
"In 2020, check out the Pop-Up Bar's new laneway location next to the Tamworth Town Hall, and the popular High Tea in the Gardens event has been expanded to two sittings with one dedicated for the kids.
"Delicious food isn't the only thing that will be on offer this festival.
"With local wine and craft beer ready to be tasted and live music creating an atmosphere like no other - you can sit back and enjoy it all with friends."
