Carmen MacGregor, from Cobargo, and Livinia May Evans, from Cooma, will travel to the Sydney Royal Show next month representing Zone 3 of The Land Showgirl statewide competition.
The Crookwell Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Society hosted the Zone 3 judging of The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl final on February 29. After the recent rain the Crookwell showground looked great. It was a sight to behold after drought and fires of past years and months. A panel of three judges sat to hear the goals and aspirations of 11 talented ententrants.
The judges found it tough.

Carmen MacGregor representing Cobargo Show Society is currently studying full-time, a bachelor of pre-medicine science and health at the University of Wollongong, is on her way to the Sydney Royal Show.
Carmen enjoys horse riding and has been involved in many equestrian club events since the age of six, and in her spare time she enjoys swimming, hiking and painting.
She is a volunteer for St Johns First Aid and a volunteer at Wollongong Emergency Family Housing for the Homeless Hub. She has also participated and volunteered at local agricultural shows.
Carmen is involved in the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience, where she helps support high school students with their academic work and goal setting. Carmen's goal is to become a GP in her community and says she has a passion about quality healthcare and sees a need to give back to the agriculture sector.
Livinia May Evans, representing Cooma Show Society, is also on her way to the Sydney Royal Show.
Livina studies primary school teaching at the University of Canberra.
She said she had a passion for teaching and nurtured a goal of working in rural areas. She is currently a swim instructor, lifeguard and wants to raise awareness of how important it is for country children to learn to swim.
Livinia's hobbies include horse riding, playing the piano, sporting activities such as rugby league, swimming, dancing and event dressage.
