The inaugural Riverina Autumn Bull Sale saw 18 bulls of 34 offered sold to a top of $8000 and average of $4822 in Wagga Wagga on Friday.
The sale was put on to offer Southern Tablelands and Southern Highlands studs the opportunity to sell to Riverina producers.
The top-priced bull of the sale was from Myanga Angus, Chatsbury and sold to Col Lewin, Oakwood, Tumblong for $8000.
Myanga Justify P20, sold as Lot 3, was sired by DSK T410 Justify J29 and out of Myanga Louise L84.
He had a birth weight figure of 4.7, 400-day-growth of 96 and 600-day-growth of 126.
Purchaser, Col Lewin said he was impressed with the bull's thickness and length.
"I bought a bull from Myanga via AuctionsPlus a few years ago and bought some heifers with Myanga blood on AuctionsPlus a few weeks ago," Mr Lewin said.
Mr Lewin said he wouldn't usually travel as far as Chatsworthy so appreciated having the opportunity to purchase the bulls in person, a little closer to home.
Myanga Angus averaged $4857 with 12 bulls in the catalogue.
The second-highest priced bull was offered by The Rock Angus and sold to Edward Aston, Redlands, Thuddungra for $6500.
The Rock Komplete P18 was sired by Pathfinder Komplete K22 and out of The Rock K4.
He was used in The Rock Angus stud as a yearling bull over stud cows and heifers.
He had EMA (10.9) and scrotal (4) figures in the top two per cent of the breed.
Talis Angus and Myers Limousins also had bulls in the draft, both studs averaging $4000 in the sale.
The volume buyer was DA and MI Carlisle from Ladysmith who bought one bull from Myanga, The Rock and Talis studs.
CJ McElroy, Tarcutta bought one bull from both Myanga and The Rock Angus.
Nutrien agents Tim Woodham said for the inaugural sale there was a great presentation of bulls with good figures.
