A trio of beef producers with resumes boasting royal and international judging appearances will cast their eye over cattle in The Land's 2020 Beef Battle.
Judging of the online show will kick off on Monday from 7pm on theland.com.au website and run for five nights.
The Bos Indicus cattle are up first under the eye of Martin Lill, Australian Global Agri Solutions, Coonabarabran.
Mr Lill is an international agriculture, agribusiness and genetics professional with more than 20 years industry expertise.
He has significant experience judging beef cattle, having judged at many rural and regional shows and major events like Beef Australia, online Champions of the World and appearances across Brazil, USA, Paraguay.
With a strong background in breeding commercial and registered livestock breeding here in Australia, Mr Lill has been also been instrumental in the development of new and emerging markets in Latin America.
He has decades of livestock showing experience and has been awarded championships at Beef Australia and east coast royal shows. He now leverages these experiences through his Viamonte Red Brangus stud.
On Tuesday and Wednesday night the Bos Taurus entries will enter the virtual ring for judge Erica Halliday, Ben Nevis Angus, Walcha.
Ms Halliday and her husband Stu are renowned for pioneering the use of yearling bulls in Australia with a strong commercial and stud following.
She is no stranger to the show ring having won Angus Australia's National Junior Judging Competition in 1994 studying Livestock Judging, Meat Judging and Marketing at the University of Illinois USA.
Ms Halliday has judged at every royal show in Australia, as well as Beef Australia and Denver and many junior, local and regional shows.
The interbreed judging will take place on Thursday night and be judged by John Manchee, Manchee Agriculture, Narrabri.
The director of the 13,500 hectare beef and cropping enterprise running across properties in Queensland and NSW has judged at every royal show in Australia with headline appearances including the Urquhart Trophy in Sydney and the led or unled steers at Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane.
Manchee Agriculture consists of a 1,200 head Shorthorn and Durham Tropical cow herd, with an annual bull sale each year in August.
Mr Manchee has a strong focus on carcase performance having claimed 54 carcase and feedlot awards in the last seven years, including the grand champion carcase at Beef Australia in 2015.
