Coming from a farming family, it was important to South West Stone that it made troughs to meet the needs of the primary producer who buys them, and the stock that drinks from them.
South West Stone is a pre-cast concrete trough business located in Young, NSW, and according to a company spokesman, they are low maintenance and easy to clean.
They have been redesigned to ensure the three, four and 4.8 metre trough's wall thickness are now 75mm which significantly increases the quality and durability.
"We've changed our lids to galvanised steel to make them lighter and easier to lift," a company spokesman said. "But we still have concrete lids for those who prefer them.
"Our concrete is delivered and poured on site.
"All our stock troughs are made by the owner so it is nice to know the person who takes your order also makes your troughs and coordinates your delivery."
