Two young girls have died following a house fire about 115 kilometres from Wagga.

Shortly after 11am on Monday , emergency services were called to a home following reports of a house fire on Mayday Road, Batlow.

A NSW police spokesperson said two three-year-old girls, who are believed to be occupants of the home, were pulled from the house by Fire and Rescue officers.

Despite their efforts, the spokesperson said the two girls died at the scene.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze and police have established a crime scene.

The spokesperson said inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire have begun, but the cause of the fire was yet to be determined. They said a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
