Mixed quality yarding of cattle at Wodonga on Friday saw prices remain 'fully firm' on recent sales according to Michael Unthank, BUR Wodonga director.
"It was a very good sale, with prices similar to last week," Mr Unthank said.
"Cows with calves made very good money for what they were ... light enough with three to four month calves.
"They sold up to $2600 with a few in the $2400 - $2500 range.
"Feeder steers sold from 370c/kg to 420c/kg.'
Mr Unthank reported a good run of black weaner steers which sold from 440c/kg to 450c/kg.
"They had a bit of weight, 320kg to 330kg for young calves," he said.
"Anything under 300kg were making from 450c/kg to 500c/kg."
The sale was no different to what we have been seeing Mr Unthank said with values equally as good.
"Commission buyers were strong and most likely sending a lot of cattle north along with feedlot orders," he said.
"Local restockers were also very strong but I think there were a few who missed out."
Wodonga-based agents BUR, Schubert Boers, Corcoran Parker and Peter Ruaro Rodwells operated.
