A large number of buyers from the Hunter Valley, Western regions, North Coast and Southern areas, all social distancing, supported the monthly Singleton store cattle sale last Friday which attracted 420 head.
Cattle were drawn from all the usual local districts in the upper and lower Hunter.
A very good line of Charolais-cross weaners from the Edwards family, Stroud, sold extremely well, with the steer portion topping at $1360, according to Roger Fuller Pty Ltd agent, Jason Bower, Singleton.
"The market was very strong for all categories with cattle going as far west as Dubbo and Coonamble, and supported very well by local buyers," he said.
"Overall quality was good and all grades sold to strong demand given the excellent season and continued recent rain this also contributed to the smaller trading."
Weaner heifers sold up to $1120 while yearling and older Angus steers made to $1620.
PTIC heifers sold to $2200 while PTIC cows were sell sought after fetching to $1940.
Cows with calves sold to a top of $2900 a unit.
