The monthly Cooma cattle sale included a yarding of 600 stores, principally weaners with Boller and Company director Chippy Boller, Cooma, reporting strong demand for all types.
"A strong field of buyers were again at the rail and demand for yearlings and weaner steers lifted with plenty of pens realising 500 cents a kilogram or more," Mr Boller said.
Weaner steers sold from $1150 to $1400 when L Lewis, Jindabyne sold eight Rosskin-blood Angus, eight to nine months.
Other good sales included J and P Evans, Kybeyan, who sold 11 Angus for $1370; M Burke, Rocky Plain, who received $1300 for eight Poll Herefords and L.I Sutton, Adaminaby, sold six Angus for $1300.
Ryrie and Sons, Michelago, sold 22 Hazeldean-blood Angus, eight to nine months for $1310 and D and D Trotter, Numeralla, sold six Angus for $1280.
Weaner heifers sold from $800 to $1260 when L Lewis, Jindabyne, sold 16 Rosskin-blood Angus, eight to nine months. Other sales included four Charolais-cross sold by H.J and B Hedger, Rocky Plain, for $1220; Ryrie and Sons, Michelago, sold 20 Hazeldean-blood Angus for $1060 and G Oliver, Adaminaby, sold black baldy heifers for $1020.
G.T, T.B and M.A Corey, Carlaminda, sold 13 Hereford heifers re-depastured to Kaludah bull for $1200.
Shorehunt Pty Ltd, Jindabyne, sold 12 Angus cows, five and six years and scanned in calf to Black Limousin bull for $2220.
Buyers attended from Leongatha and Bairnsdale in Victoria, and Orange, Mudgee, Bathurst, Goulburn, Cootamundra, Albury, Wagga, Tumut, Bega and Queanbeyan.
