A passion for high quality garments for women and men but made from natural fibres led Fiona Beggs to open a shop in the 'Paris end' of the Wagga Wagga shopping precinct.
Trading as Monty and Moo, named for her two very spoilt 'pan lickers', Ms Begg stocks Australian-made garments and gifts and prefers to support local designers where possible.
"I love natural fibre and I wanted to bring a new customer experience to Wagga Wagga," she said.
"I also wanted to support Australian industry, which we must all do more off."
Ms Beggs had opened her shop, after some encouraging experience with pop-up in the main street, two weeks before 'the end of the world'.
"I have been pleased with the amount of support I have been getting," she said.
"By concentrating on quality I have been able to show customers wonderful products made from natural fibres which will last a lifetime."
Among the brands Ms Beggs stocks, McIntrye Wool is a Melbourne-based producer of woolen knitwear and Caroline Gleeson, whose woolen garments are made in New Zealand.
"A selling point is we can trace some of our wool products back to the farm of origin," he said.
"That is really exciting when you show the customer the origin of their jumper or pair of socks."
Monty and Moo also stocks soap and handwash made by Murphy and Daughters in Melbourne and a favourite product used by US television personality Oprah Winfrey, along with locally made chopping boards, children's toys and gift cards.
