TEN of the best NSW young auctioneers will get the opportunity to showcase their impressive talent at the selling rostrum following the announcement of a new date for the Australian Livestock and Property Agents Association NSW Young Auctioneers Competition.
Traditionally the competition has been staged at the Sydney Royal Show with the ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition, however the pandemic put a stop to this year's plans when the show was cancelled.
Since then ALPA have been working hard in the background to come up with a temporary location and date for this year's NSW competition which will be at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets on September 3.
NSW finalists had already been selected late last year during an ALPA training school in Sydney.
However, for other state competitions to accommodate COVID-19 restrictions, selections will be held virtually.
Nominees will be required to send in a video of themselves conducting an auction of three consecutive lots of cattle.
The Qld final will be held at Silverdale Saleyards on August 6, while the SA final is set for September 29 and the Vic competition will be in October at a date yet to be confirmed.
ALPA can confirm the SA final will be at Naracoorte Regional Livestock Exchange and the Vic competition is planned for Victorian Livestock Exchange at Pakenham.
