Lines of well-conditioned Angus steers were a feature of the sale at NVLX Wodonga today where 2806 head were on offer.
In a big yarding for the season most of the cattle presented in forward store condition with a little tale among the younger and lighter cattle.
Some indicative sales of weaner steers included 19 Angus sold by Sandloft Pty Ltd, Wymah weighing 268kg for $1300: 14 Angus offered by Yambla Pastoral Co, Table Top weighing 379kg sold for $1600 and 12 Angus weighing 380kg sold by M.A and P.J King, Brimin, Victoria for $1610.
Heavy steers sold to $1990 when five Angus weighing 516kg went under the hammer while two Angus weighing 522kg sold for $1940.
Some indicative sales of weaner heifers included 16 Braefield-blood Angus weighing 341kg sold by M.A and P.J King, Brimin, Vic for $1320: Myrlong Carroll, Mudgegonga, Vic sold 11 Angus weighing 329kg for $1250 and P and A Stevenson, Tallangatta, Vic received $1230 for their pen of 26 Coonawarra and Lawsons Angus-blood heifers weighing 295kg.
Pre-tested empty cows sold for $1450 when Bullyannie Station, Nackaba offered 13 mixed-age Poll Herefords weighing 455kg.
Landale Pastoral, Holbrook sold 25 PTIC black baldy cows weighing 565kg for $1950 and 18 PTIC Angus heifers weighing 473kg for $1980.
Wodonga-based agents Elders and Paull and Scollard Nutrien conducted the sale.
