The market for store cattle at Braidwood last Friday was quoted ten cents/kg dearer when W.J Gibbs and Co, Bungendore agent Jake Rayner reported a very good sale for the limited numbers on offer.
"Condition would be described as good to forward store and with only 227 head penned there was pretty good competition to get the better lines," Mr Rayner said.
"All the usual buyers were in attendance, with a strong local presence and it was a solid market."
Weaner steers weighing up to 200kg sold from $684 to $969 (499c/kg) while those weighing to 300kg sold from $792 to $1268 (509c/kg).
Grown steers sold from $1171 to $1776.
Heifer weaners weighing up to 300kg sold from $784 to $1062 while yearling heifers made $916 and grown heifers sold to $2160.
PTIC cows sold to $1719 and cows with calves sold from $1767 to $2160.
Indicative sales included one Angus steer weighing 410kg sold by John Ingram, Braidwood for $1640.
Five Hereford heifers weighing 189kg sold by G Bradley, Braidwood for $771 and one Limousin heifer weighing 720kg sold for $2160 on account R and D Lawrence.
John Ingram, Braidwood sold 11 PTIC Angus cows weighing 603kg for $1719.
