Local restockers dominated the sale when 1437 cattle were penned at IRLX Inverell on Thursday.
C.L Squires and Company, Inverell livestock salesman Robbie Bloch reported some very nice runs of weaners were on offer during a firm market.
"There was a good run of yearling steers weighing from 300kg to 380kg including nice Charolais/Simmentals sold from 388-392c/kg for 380kgs," he said.
"A good run of Angus yearling steers weighing 360kg sold for 440c/kg."
Mr Bloch also noted some very nice Charolais/Santa Gertrudis steer weaners weighing 330kg sold for 440c/kg.
The lead of the Angus steers, weighing from 280kg to 300kg sold from 460-465c/kg while lighter Angus steers weighing 200kg-250kg sold to 485c/kg.
"A nice run of Angus heifers including 80 from one place weighing 320kg sold for 447c/kg to local restocker," he said.
"Weaner heifers 220kg-260kg sold from 400c/kg to 430c/kg with few going under 400c/kg."
PTIC cows topped at $1780 for a pen of third calf British-cross and down to $1600 for a pen of Brahman-cross.
The best of the cows with calves made to $2260 with a second run selling for $2000.
