Racing this past week in the Central and Western districts was at Warren and Cowra.
On Tuesday July 7 the Warren Jockey Club hosted a seven-race TAB meeting.
Wellington based apprentice Kath Bell-Pitomac rode a back-to-back double when winning aboard the Cootamundra, Debbie Prest-trained Nanga in the 1200-metre maiden handicap and the Michael Mulholland, Wellington-trained gelding The Sledgehammer in the Class 1 and maiden plate over 1600m.
Collarenebri trainer Kelly Smith and Dubbo-based jockey Rasit Yetimova combined once again to win the last race of the day with Grass Cutter.
Other winners on the day included On Time, for the Rodney Northam stable at Scone, Supreme Times and Boomshake The Room for Nyngan trainers Rodney Robb and Garry Bignell, along with Kookabaa for the Brett Thompson stable at Gulgong.
On Saturday July 11 the Cowra Jockey Club ran a six-race TAB 2 meeting, where racecourse curator and trainer, Barry Wall won the Class 1 handicap over 950m with Deshawn.
Popular Bathurst father-and-son training partnership, Don and Andrew Ryan along with stable jockey Eleanor Webster-Hawes combined to win the F&M Benchmark 58 Handicap over 1100m with the family owned and bred, Happiest.
Other winners on the day included, Tiz War Bro for the Queanbeyan stable of Paul Facoory, Earp from the Kurt Goldman stables at Goulburn along with Mr Maharaj, Fling and The Inflamer for the Canberra stables of Todd Smart, Mathew Dale and Nick Olive respectively.
