COWS with calves sold to a top of $2600 a unit at the Maitland store cattle sale on Saturday.
Bowe and Lidbury agent Michael Easey said the market was firm to slightly easier on a mixed quality offering.
He said weaner steers sold from $600 to $1480, while weaner heifers attracted bids from $450 to $1340.
Grown steers ranged from $1700 to $1880 and pregnancy-tested-in-calf heifers sold from $1700 to $2050.
PTIC cows also sold well from $1050 to $2150, while the unjoined cows attracted a firm price trend from $1000 to $1900.
Cows with calves ranged from $1650 to $2600.
Mr Easey said there was a good range of buyers from the local area and as far as Bathurst, the New England, Tamworth and the Upper Hunter.
