DUNEDOO'S store cattle sale is fast becoming a venue vendors and buyers are eager to support and this was evident at the sale on Wednesday last week.
The yarding of 1450 head has been increasing with each sale since local agents Milling Stuart combined with Dubbo agents PT Lord, Dakin and Associates giving an alternative to Dubbo's monthly store sale which has recently returned on the third Friday of the month.
This sale attracted buyers from Wagga Wagga in the south to the New England and North West. Regions included Bathurst, Orange Forbes, Singleton, Dubbo and local.
Milling Stuart agent Jamie Stuart said the yards were filled with well-finished outstanding cattle well supported by buyers from right through the state.
PT Lord, Dakin agent Mark Garland it was another very successful sale with solid buyer support with a good number of repeat buyers attending.
Hampshire Station, Merriwa, sold 71 spring 2019-drop steers, all Eaglehawk blood, to a top of $1620 each to a Singleton agent. Wisbey family, Botobolar, had 20 weaner heifers sell for $1300/head and 21 weaner steers at $1290 each.
Speckle Park cows with calves topped at $3060 a unit selling to the Bourke family, Burrawilla, Neilrex. Angus cows on their second calves sold for $2750/unit for Carr Brothers, Wellington, while seven- to 10-year-old pregnancy-tested-in-calf Hereford cows from Telford and Sellars, agisted locally, made $1860.
Angus yearling heifers from Ewendale Partnership, Dunedoo, topped the heifer market at $1380.
