RAIN will spread over every district of NSW during the next 48 hours, with some areas likely to see wet weather continue into the weekend as well.
A low pressure system that's traversing across Australia this week will move into western NSW on Thursday.
This low will cause rain to spread across the entire state from west to east on Thursday and Friday.
It will bring with it useful rain to every inland district and even some parts of the coast.
A few showers will persist west of the ranges during the weekend.
Although, the heaviest rain is likely to contract towards the state's southern coast and ranges on Saturday and Sunday.
All up between Thursday and Sunday, widespread totals of 20 to 30 millimetres are likely across inland areas of NSW.
It's expected only pockets are likely to miss out on good rain from this event.
Some areas of western NSW could pick up 40mm to 50mm.
There's also a good change of 50mm to 100mm along the state's south coast, most of which will fall on the weekend.
Some of this rain could cause brief periods of flooding in south-eastern NSW this weekend.
Be sure to check the latest warnings in this part of the state.
Drier weather will return to most of NSW early next week as the low moves out into the Tasman Sea.
There are signs that a cold front could bring more showers in southern and western parts of the state on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
However at this stage, this rain will be much lighter than this week's soaking.
