Freezing conditions and pouring rain didn't dampen the local bidders at Kansas Angus annual sale at Tamworth on Friday.
The Crosby family recently purchased property in the area and moved their sale to the undercover Tamworth livestock centre. It was a good decision as the heavens opened up and the Crosby family farm fertile black soil would have been a nightmare.
The stud sold 18 of 22 of the bulls on offer for an 81 per cent clearance with an extra bull selling directly after the sale to update the clearance to 86 pc and a $5105 average.
Kansas Datalink P69 secured the top price of $10,000 purchased by Nick Hannaford, Elders on behalf of Michael Lyons, Yarrallah Pastoral Co, Bundella.
The top price bull was one of three he purchased to average $6666.
Other buyers of note who purchased three bulls included Scone Pastoral Co, Wingen and Ranken Bros from Quirindi.
The sale was conducted by Elders Tamworth and Gunnedah.
