Perhaps indicative of current state of store cattle supply, only 1059 head were on offer today at NVLX Wodonga.
Indicative prices for the better steers under 300kg ranged from $1200 to $1360: steers under 400kg varied from $1375 to $1625 while those over 400kg sold from $1310 to $1980.
Representative sales included 11 Angus weighing 372kg sold for $1605: 17 Simmental weighing 380kg sold for $1605 and 17 Angus weighing 340kg sold for $1470.
Sales over 400kg included 22 Angus weighing 483kg sold for $1980: 20 Angus weighing 437kg sold for $1805 and four Charolais weighing 446kg sold for $1700.
In the heifer pens sales under 300kg sold to $1215: those weighing under 400kg sold from $1225 to $1580 and those over 400kg sold from $1500 to $1705.
Representative sales included four Charolais weighing 395kg sold for $1580: three Simmental weighing 389kg sold for $1550 and 14 Angus weighing 301kg sold for $1225.
Sales over 400kg included 10 Charolais weighing 444kg sold for $1705: three Angus cross weighing 447kg sold for $1610 and one Speckle Park weighing 420kg sold for $1500.
Reid Trust, Howlong sold 14 Hereford heifers weighing 368kg for $1415.
Limited numbers of cows on offer saw one pen of three second calf Hereford/Friesian cross with Angus calves sold by Glendample Pastoral Co, Burrumbuttock for $2480.
Wodonga-based agents Corcoran Parker, Peter Ruaro Livestock and Property, Brian Unthank Rural and Schubert Boers conducted the sale.
