COVID-19 restrictions mean the audience for the Australian Livestock and Property Agents Association (ALPA) Young Auctioneers Competition will be drastically reduced at the Dubbo saleyards on Thursday, but that's also expected to boost the number of people utilising The Land's livestream of the event.
Every moment of the action-packed competition can be watched in real time thanks to The Land's partnership with Bulahdelah-based business Wild Colt Productions, which will host a webcast of the event.
Every run from the auctioneer's catwalk at Dubbo saleyards will be streamed live to The Land's website and archived at the end of the event so visitors can re-watch all the action once the event has passed.

All the results and wrap up interviews with the winners will also be available on the website following the competition.
The competition will also be streamed to Facebook at the same time as the website, giving The Land's social media audience a high quality visual and audio experience.
Australian Community Media national livestock manager, Brett Tindal, Wagga Wagga, said the popularity of the livestream continued to grow each year.
Last year's NSW and National final at the Sydney Royal Show was viewed live by 25,554 unique viewers from nine countries across The Land's web and social media platforms, along with a further 15,000 people watching the free event re-wind.
"By expanding the livestream service to simultaneously stream the event to The Land's Facebook page at the same time as the website, we were able to invite another level of young auctioneer competition followers in to enjoy all the action," Mr Tindal said.
ALPA chief executive Peter Baldwin, Sydney, said ALPA was pleased to be partnering with The Land for the sixth year.
He said the livestream's significance would be even greater this year due to COVID-19 restrictions which were limiting people's ability to travel interstate.
"It's a showcase of the best young auctioneers to Australia and the world and the livestream really does increase the profile of the competition," he said.
Australia's only association of independent livestock and property agents, rma network, and the livestock selling complex, Wagga Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre (LMC), have come on board as partners for the sixth year.
These companies have found the platform a great medium for boosting brand awareness by reaching a wide and targeted online audience.
