At least 25,000 people have tuned in to watch the Facebook livestream of the NSW ALPA Young Auctioneers final held at Dubbo yesterday.
The competition was taken out by third-time entrant Ben McMahon of Lehman Stock and Property at Inverell while runner-up was Sam Smith from Kevin Miller Whitty Lennon and Company, Forbes.
Traditionally held at the Sydney Royal Show, this year's competition was postponed and moved to Dubbo due to the COVID-19 pandemic after the Sydney Royal was cancelled.
Ten of the best auctioneers from across the state sold one steer and two heifers before a team of three judges and were vying for the John Weekes Memorial Shield
Harry Waters, Elders Gundagai, was awarded the Max Bailey Memorial Encouragement Award.
