The engineering expertise and farming nous of Australian company K-Line Ag has once again been demonstrated in the development and testing of the latest addition to its tillage equipment family which has launched this week around the country.

The LightningRipper® is the baby of the K-Line Ag Ripper range and, if the strong reputation of its elder siblings, the MaxxRipper® and ThunderRipper® are anything to go by, it will be top of the list when it comes to smaller acreage, lower horsepower Rippers.

Bill Larsen, Director Sales and Marketing at K-Line Ag, is excited to be launching this new machine to the Australian market.

"Deep ripping and subsoil renovation is now a widely recognised and proven strategy for soil improvement across Australia. Farmers large and small are continually looking for ways to improve their soil structure to make it as productive and healthy as possible. We have been working alongside farmers to develop a complete Ripper range that suits their needs," he said.

The LightningRipper® provides farmers with small to medium range tractors and up to approximately 220hp with a new strong, robust and precise option that will rip down to 450mm deep while leaving very little pasture and soil disturbance.

The narrow 27mm tyne shanks are strong but precise and bust through hard pans to enable greater moisture distribution and retention throughout the soil bed, making it more available to pastures and plantings.

No matter what the farming operation or the soil type, the Australian farmer has a K-Line Ag Ripper made to address their soil renovation needs.

The LightningRipper® comes standard with a knifing roller on the back that leaves the soil surface clean and the ripping line smoothed over with minimal disturbance to pastures. This gently tilths and covers the rip line to ensure moisture is not lost out the top but still absorbed when it rains.

The roller can also be used as a depth gauge to ensure you are ripping at the optimal depth to suit your soil requirements.

Mr Larsen said the K-Line Ag team have considered all the options to suit the needs of Australian farmers in this horsepower range. With three width options, 2.5m, 3m and 3.5m) and optional tyne spacings, farmers can choose a model that best suits their requirements.

"It is an exciting time for K-Line Ag. We now offer a strong robust ripping solution to meet all types of Australian farming conditions and operations," he said.

"Whether it be viticulture, graziers, croppers, horticulture growers, cotton growers or cane growers we have a tough Australian-made machine to suit."
