THE annual Dubbo Gold Cup meeting was a sold-out event, with the limited tickets snapped up within days of going on sale.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions the club limited Fashions On the Field to one category, best-dressed lady, which was won by Michelle Meyers from Mudgee with Abby Skinner from Mendooran named the runner-up.
The feature race, the 2020 Dubbo City Toyota Gold Cup over 1600 metres was won by the William Freedman, Scone-trained Zaunkonig.
Another highlight of the day was the running of the final of the 2020 Picnic Championships; in this race 12 amateur riders took centre stage over the professional jockeys.
This year it was totally a family affair with the winner Military Bay trained by Scone-based trainer Mark Schmetzer for his father while his sister, Tammy Boyd, strapped the horse and his brother in-law Ashley Boyd rode the five-year-old brown gelding.
