Nutrien Ag Solutions has partnered with Lifeline to support its mission to prevent suicide and provide crisis support.
Speaking ahead of World Mental Health Day on Saturday, Nutrien Ag Solutions managing director Rob Clayton said the company had committed $390,000 across three years to support Australia's largest suicide prevention service.
"As an agricultural business with thousands of employees and customers living in rural and regional Australia, the health and wellbeing of these communities is a top priority for Nutrien Ag Solutions," Mr Clayton said.
"This year has been particularly tough for many families, with devastating droughts, floods, bushfires and a pandemic causing a lot of uncertainty and stress, and the strain on mental health can be even greater."
"We know people in the bush are resilient but seeking mental health support can be difficult, so it's vital that everyone has access to this critical support service.
"Lifeline is an organisation many of our people have been involved with via fundraising efforts for many years.
"We also have communities, families and colleagues in our network who have lost loved ones to suicide, so this cause is very close to our hearts."
"We hope our support of Lifeline will help people in country Australia feel they can have conversations about needing support and know where to go to get that support," Mr Clayton said.
Lifeline Australia chief executive Colin Seery said "every call and text we answer at Lifeline is another life saved and this partnership with Nutrien Ag Solutions is helping us provide connection and hope to thousands of people every year."
