Designed and manufactured from US steel, Woods slashers' design and features are industry leading, says Woods Australia wholesale manager Rowan O'Hara.

"Woods slashers are designed with maximum operator safety in mind as the slasher blades can be changed from above the machine, with light hand tools in a couple of minutes, to the 38mm blade pin which is four times stronger than the standard 19mm blade bolt on other slashers," Mr O'Hara said.

"They're the only slasher that has a greaseable blade pin ensuring greater longevity out of a set of blades. They're built on a complete subframe and come with a stump jumping disc to protect the gearbox. Importantly, they don't leave a windrow so you can manage your pasture efficiently to increase your production capacity. Woods slashers are built to last, and come with a six-year gearbox warranty," he said.

Mr O'Hara said the Woods 4ft to 7ft Single Spindle Slashers range from the standard duty model with a cutting capacity of material with a 50mm diameter to the extra heavy duty model with a 100mm diameter cutting capacity.

"The 50 series have a heavy-duty high horsepower gearbox rated at 150hp when the clutch is properly set and a high tip speed to give a superior cut and finish.

"The high body clearance with a 322mm deck depth allows for easy cutting of bulk grass. It has a German-made four plate clutch and driveline to handle the higher horsepower.

"The 60 series are an extra heavy duty slasher with a 210hp gearbox rating with a three inch output shaft."

Mark Lavery, a Woods owner and slashing contractor said he wouldn't buy anything else.

"I'm achieving a 150 per cent productivity increase with Woods. I'm cutting more grass in less time using less fuel," Mr Lavery said.

Mr O'Hara said the Woods Batwing Slashers, available in 12ft, 15ft or 20ft models in standard duty and heavy, extra heavy and extreme heavy-duty options, are the only true batwing in the Australian market.

"They're the heaviest built batwing slasher in the Australian market and will cut material up to 115mm in diameter. The wings can operate at 90 degrees up and 22 degrees down and can be operated in a vertical position allowing slashing over banks..

"The extra heavy-duty output shaft allows the operator to cut heavier material and the PTO Assist Lift System takes the weight off the shaft for ease of hooking up PTO shaft by operator.

"The independent suspension in the wheels allows floatation for a smoother ride, less vibration on the slasher and a more precise cut.

"The 25.5 inch new foam filled 20ply tyres will prevent any tyre punctures.

"The cleanline top prevents the build up of trash on the top of slasher for easy cleaning."

Woods Australia managing director Steve Morrison said Woods Dual Spindle Slashers are available from an 8ft cut to a 12ft cut in standard duty and heavy-duty options.

"A heavy-duty Woods Dual Spindle slasher will cut material up to 76mm in diameter," Mr Morrison said.

He said the Dual Spindle Series are available in both linkage or drawbar options and also feature a hydraulic heavy-duty offset dual spindle in an 8ft and 10ft cut.

"The Woods Dual Spindle slashers have a comparable output to a flail mower or mulcher with the benefit of considerably reduced maintenance and running costs.

"Another benefit of the dual spindle is the volume of work which is able to be completed with a smaller horsepower as the cutting width is up to 50 per cent more on a dual spindle compared to a single spindle."

Mr Morrison said The Woods Side Throw Series are built in Australia and are the only side throw used in Australian paddocks that is proven to work reliably.

"The Side Throw Series discharges all grass out to the side without blocking up and choking. The discharge is controllable to ensure product is distributed where it's needed, such as mulching under trees in an orchard.

"The Side Throw Series covers all Woods slasher widths from 4ft to 20ft and can throw out the left side, right side or out both sides depending on the required application of the slasher.

He said usages of a Woods Side Throw Series can range from an orchard to cutting grass for hay.

Orchardist and Side Throw Series Woods owner Mark Taylor, said he has reduced his slashing time from 30 to 15 hours a week.

"Even when slashing in heavy material nothing is left behind, giving my orchard a mower finish and nicely discharging material under my trees. Woods are well built machines," Mr Taylor said.
