The Land has partnered with organisation Littlescribe, which helps students build stronger literacy skills, encouraging every child to become an co-author with the help of Australia's most well known writers.
Each week The Land will feature stories from children across the state, online and in print. The second featured story is Dubbo West Public School Kindergarten's "Alphabet Soup", (featured in the gallery above) written with the guidance of writer and illustrator James Foley.

Each child was in charge of a letter of the alphabet and used their alliteration, cut and paste, drawing and handwriting skills to create "Alphabet Soup."
As part of the program, the students brainstormed who would they like to be their audience for Alphabet Soup.
One of their responses was the paper and they can now officially tick off The Land.
Instructional leader of Dubbo West Public School, Deb Parsons said the writing project had motivated the students and taught purpose and audience.
"The Kinder students enjoyed collaboratively producing the Alphabet Soup books and the beginning pages from the author really sparked their creativity," Ms Parsons said.
