LOCAL buyers dominated the bidding during the monthly store cattle sale at Central Tablelands Livestock Exchange, Carcoar, last Friday.
About 1100 head were offered and although prices were historically high, the National Livestock Reporting Service's Graeme Richard said compared to last month's sale the market for young cattle was a bit cheaper.
McCarron Cullinane agent Lindsay Fryer, Orange, said the extra weight in the cattle due to the season was much more evident at this month's sale as producers aimed for better than 300kg for young cattle to entice the lot feeder competition.
