Offering 150 Merino and Poll Merino rams at his 16th annual on-property sale at Yass, Tallawong studmaster Frank Kaveney was 'blown away' by the result.
When it was announced 138 rams had sold to a top of $6500 and average $3224.64, Mr Kaveney was quite humbled by the response to his breeding program.
"It is a phenomenal result," he said.
The average price was $900 better than last year when 133 from 140 rams sold.
Top price was paid by Steve Tozer, Main Range Merinos, Cooma for a twin son of Yarrawonga 114.
With fleece measurements of 19.3m, 3.0 SD., and 99.5pc comfort factor along with ASBV's of 130 greasy fleece weight percentage, -2.6 yearling fibre diameter, 162 DP+ and 180 MP+, Mr Tozer was further impressed by the scale and outlook of his new stud sire.
The sale was settled by Nutrien Ag Solutions, Yass with Rick Power attending to auctioneering duties.
