Store cattle coming to Wodonga are weighing much heavier due to producers with grass holding onto them for longer but values are still strong when 956 head were yarded today at NVLX Wodonga.
Indicative prices for steers under 300kg ranged from $1160 to $1610 (288kg) while those in the 300 - 400kg weight range varied from $1455 to $1705 (364kg).
Steers over 400kg sold to $1900 (457kg).
Indicative prices for heifers under 300kg ranged from $1005 to $1360 (281kg) while those weighing between 300kg and 400kg sold from $1385 to $1680 (386kg).
Heifers over 400kg sold to $1955 (497kg).
Cows sold from $1700 to $2500 (694kg) while cows with calves sold from $1940 to $3580.
Representative sales of steers included ten Limousin ten months and weighing 364kg sold for $1705 on account Glenola Limousins, Huon, Victoria: Palm Hill, Henty sold seven Angus seven-eight months and weighing 344kg for $1685 and R.A and J.A Jarick, Jindera sold 20 Angus 10-12 mths, by Rossrich Angus and weighing 379kg for $1775.
Representative sales of heifers included ten Injemira-blood Herefords, August/September 2019-drop and weighing 377kg sold for $1610.
Angus cows with calves sold for $3580 when Don Lappin, Chiltern, Vic offered three.
Wodonga-based agents Elders and Paull and Scollard Nutrien operated during the sale.
