OFFERING 33 housed Merino rams, the 32nd annual Superfine stud ram sale held at Sallys Flat by the Rayner family's Pomanara stud was a success.
Geoff Rayner was happy with the sale as it was solid without being ridiculously priced.
"I was pleased by the line up today and it was appreciated by the buyers." Mr Rayner said.
"This sale was more solid then the previous years with a lot of spirited bidding."
The top priced ram, from the Walter family was sold to long standing purchaser Lance Rayner.
The two-year-old carried a 16.4 micron fleece, and figures of 4.1 per cent for greasy fleece weight (GFW), 99.9 per cent comfort factor (CF) and 15.9 per cent for coefficient of variation (CV).
Of the 33 rams on offer 22 sold at auction with further selling after the final hammer drop, to a sale average of $1282 and a top price of $2200.
Volume buyer on the day was Steve Harris who took home four rams for a draft average of $900 and top price of $1000 twice.
Auctioneer Marcus Schembri, Nutrien, Bathurst thought the sale was very competitive.
