Prices reached a huge top of $480 at Tuesday's Dubbo goat sale, in a yarding of close to 1000 head.
C Olsen Agencies auctioneer Cleve Olsen said it was the dearest sale he had ever seen.
"Goats were making a good $10 to $11 a kilogram," Mr Olsen said.
"There were a lot of goats there that made $200 (a head), some made $400.
"The restockers were strong too, the little goats selling particularly well, they were making $40 to $100."
Auctioneer Joe Portelli, PT Lord Dakin and Associates, Dubbo said 30 per cent of the yarding was Boer goats, with the balance Australian Bush Goats (ABG).
The market was topped by a pen of three Boer bucks on account of Jampion Pty Ltd, Rylestone.
Boer bucks sold from $180 to $480, while Boer does ranged from $200 to $400.
Mr Portelli said Boer does were up to $50 dearer.
"Restocker activity was very strong, particularly on the smaller goats," he said.
The top pen of does was offered on behalf of vendors the Smith family, Tara, Walgett for a pen of 2019-drop does. They were purchased by Brian and Gemma Churchill, Alectown.
ABG billies sold from $85 to $135, while the nannies were $15 cheaper, selling from $65 to $135.
Vendor Len Hawkins, Hebel, Queensland sold a run of ABG and first cross Boer/ABG kids at the sale.
