HIGHLY respected livestock buyer Brian Wellings from Walcha called it a day at the end of the Tamworth prime sheep and lamb sale on Monday.
Mr Wellings chose "his favourite sale" to clock off after a 26-year career buying for Fletcher International.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed working in this industry," he said.
"Fletcher International is a family run organisation and have done a wonderful job for our industry and have been a wonderful organisation to work for.
"The producers in this area also do a great job and produce some really good livestock."

During Monday's sale he received numerous accolades from agents, vendors and fellow buyers.
Andrew Jackson from Thomas Foods said his relationship with Mr Wellings was "like a marriage - sometimes on, sometimes off", before adding that Roger Fletcher was lucky to have such an honest and capable buyer.
Purtle Plevey agent Patrick Purtle , who offered thanks on behalf of the agents, said that most people would understand how well-regarded Mr Wellings was "in a difficult position to occupy".
In an entertaining end to his career, Mr Wellings sold a pen of sheep on behalf of Nutrien Livestock.
