NSW's up-and-coming farmers and fishers have been encouraged to save the date for the 2021 Young Farmer Business Program conference.
Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Western NSW Adam Marshall announced the two-day Conference would be held in Dubbo on May 27 and 28.
"If you're a young farmer or fisher, or someone that aspires to be one, I'd strongly encourage you to come along to the Young Farmer Business Program conference," Mr Marshall said.
"The conference is a great opportunity for like-minded young farmers and fishers to learn more about the drivers of successful primary production businesses, the support services available and practical steps to achieve their business goals."
The Young Farmer Business Program collaborates with industry professionals to break down the barriers that young farmers and fishers may experience when entering or expanding their business.
"This conference is a great way to hear from the experts covering business management, motivation, succession and finance. It also provides an invaluable opportunity to network with other young professionals, Mr Marshall said.
"The inaugural conference in 2019 attracted more than 300 people to Dubbo and we are hoping to have an even bigger event this year while ensuring the event is COVID-Safe."
Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders said as a thriving hub for agriculture in NSW, Dubbo was the ideal location to hold the Young Farmer Business Program conference.
"A successful business needs a strong foundation, and the Young Farmer Business Program is a great way for any young farmer or fisher to get ahead of the game," Mr Saunders said.
"Conference participants will visit local farms to see practical examples of running a successful business and learn first-hand from innovative farming enterprises and I couldn't imagine a more suitable centre to host such an important and positive conference than Dubbo."
The conference will be held at the Dubbo Regional Theatre & Convention Centre on 27 - 28 May 27 and 28, and more information can be found on the Young Farmer Business Program website www.youngfarmer.nsw.gov.au.
