SOLID new year weaner cattle prices greeted vendors at yesterday's Wodonga weaner sale and the trend is expected to continue today.
A yarding of 2524 weaner steers and heifers will go under the hammer during day two of the Angus weaner sales.
Today, clients from Rodwells, Schubert Boers, BUR Livestock and Property and Corcoran Parker will offer lines of black cattle held back specifically for this sale.
Agents at yesterday's Wodonga sale said cattle producers who did resist the temptation to sell late last year into a strong store market were rewarded with even better prices than those received last month.

Competition on heifers is also expected to be fierce today based on the much dearer results yesterday, particularly from bidders using StockLive.
Heifers weighing 330kg to 430kg sold from about 450c/kg to 530c/kg during yesterday's Wodonga sale. Strong bidding also pushed the top-priced weaner steers to $1980.
The market kicks off at 9am.
In line with government recommendations relating to COVID-19, access to Northern Victoria Livestock Exchange is restricted to NVLX staff, agents, genuine buyers, vendors with livestock in the sale, transporters and media reporters.
NVLX has recommended children do not attend sales, however, if this is not possible, no children are permitted in the selling area to allow buyers free access to pens.
