BUYERS from far as away as Queensland flocked to the Lemani Merino ram sale on Thursday.
The strong contingent of buyers did not leave disappointed because 27 out of the 40 two-year-old rams on offer were snapped up, with three buyers topping the sale at $850.
Conducted by Nutrien Inverell, the Helmsman-style sale averaged $658 and all but nine of the rams purchased, were purchased during the time period.

Lemani Merino principal Steve Symons said the rams on offer had been bred to suit the North West's climatic conditions.
"I think it's a pretty good line of rams all told," Mr Symons said.
"We always new this year was going to be a bit tough with a lot of people still coming out of the drought.
"However, I am really pleased with how the sale turned out and while it was so good to see so many returned clients, it was really pleasing to see some new clients come along as well."
David Smith of Fairleigh, Limevale, Michael Counter of Bonnie Doon, Texas and Chris Robinson of Glenwood, Gravesend shared the honours of the day's top buyers, each paying $850 for the day's best selling rams.
All three top-selling rams boasted impressive microns of 16.8 (lot three tag 151), 14.4 (lot 15 tag 1595) and 14.9 (lot 21 tag 72).
In addition to the strong microns, the three rams were also sold with clean fleece weight percentages of 114.6 per cent (tag 151), 107.1 pc (tag 1595) and 106.4 pc (tag 72).
Mr Robinson said the three rams he purchased on the day, including the equal-best-selling ram, would settle in well on his property.
"They were just a line of three nice, neat poll rams that matched well," Mr Robinson said.
"They'll do the job, they're big framed boys and they will go in when we're ready, which at he moment looks like we'll have some ewes for them in about three months.
"This season has been good for us and we have been buying Steve's rams for years now because they seem to really transfer well back on our country."
Despite snapping up three quality rams, Mr Robinson was not the day's busiest buyer.
The honour went to Greg Gallagher, Glen Innes, who took home four rams from the sale.
"I've bought a few rams here in the past and they've done really well on my place," Mr Gallagher said.
"At the moment, I think my place is looking the best I've ever seen it and I'm confident these rams will make the most of the really good conditions.
"They'll be joined at the end of April and while things are looking good another 15 to 20mm right now would be pretty good.
"I think a few people are in a similar boat though, to be honest."
