Sold for $34,000, the AI son of YavenVale Masterpiece was bought by Stephen Peake, Bowen Pastoral Co, Barraba and David Lyons, Melville Park, Vasey, Victoria.

- Top price: $34,000
- Av: $9157
Opening the sale, co-principal James Pearce said he was very proud of the bulls on offer and pointed to recent success with cattle sold to the Teys Grasslands brand.
"For the first time a YavenVale heifer graded Ausmeat marble score 4," he said.
"This animal scored 63.41 for MSA index and was sired by YavenVale Lockout who ranks in the top one pc of the breed for IMF."
Mr Pearce said this exceptional result was backed up with a number of other steers and heifers grading marble score 3.
"It is showing that YavenVale genetics are reaching very high industry standards," he noted.
"It also shows our emphasis on selection for carcase traits is coming through."
The top priced bull was the highest ranked IMF bull in the catalogue at +3.2, and was placed in the top one pc for both rump and IMF.
Weighing 674kg, his measurements for December 2020 Hereford Breedplan included +3.5 Rump, +4.1 EMA, +12 Milk and +89 600 day weight.
Stephen Peake said the growth and carcase data of his new sire was exceptional.
"But most of all he had phenotype with a great disposition and excellent hoof shape." he said.
The sale was conducted by Ray White GTSM, with Michael Glasser and James Brown auctioneering and was interfaced with AuctionsPlus.
