THE opening day of the 22nd annual Chris Naake Memorial Tablelands flock ewe competition began in style on Wednesday.
Seven properties across the Mudgee, Rylstone, Carwell, Ilford, Hargraves and Grattai areas threw open their gates during the first day of the annual two-day competition.
Named in honour of the late 27-year Coopers Animal Health district representative Chris Naake, a total of 14 different farms will feature in this year's event.

Competition judges for 2021 Michael Corkhill of Grassy Creek, Reids Flat and Garry Kopp, of Towonga, Peak Hill were treated to some stellar ewe flocks during the competition's opening day.
All told, the convoy of more than 20 participants and spectators travelled about 300km to different properties during the opening day of competition.
Day two will take in properties in the Moolarben, Turill, Goolma, Stubbo and Mudgee regions before culminating with an awards ceremony at the Lawson Park Hotel on Thursday evening.
