The Karorai Merino ram sale at Walcha on February 11 attracted buyers from Glen Innes to Bathurst.
The Blomfield family offered 44 rams boasting top performing sheep breeding values for worm resistance and wool quality.
All but one ram sold under the hammer for a sale average of $2000.
The top price of $5750 was paid by Michael and Therese Inwood, Toulon, Bathurst with the O'Connor family, Armidale not far behind with a winning bid of $5250 for another ram.
The Haynes family of Mount View at Kerrs Creek had the biggest load of six rams averaging $1300 just ahead of Justin and Jo Hoad, North Mihi, Uralla with five averaging $1550.
Repeat buyers were active throughout the sale including the Alt Brothers from Glen Innes purchasing four rams for an average of $2250. Graeme and Bronwyn Brazel, Broadacres, Walcha were also successful with four averaging $1750.
Kevin and Elaine Edmunds, Fairview, Armidale had been using Karori genetics for some years and were happy with their two rams averaging $2600.
The Blomfield family said all the repeat buyers commented that using Karori genetics was creating magnificent quality wool on their sheep and their shearers also spoke of how soft the wool felt.
