RAIN and thunderstorms will affect some parts of NSW each day during the rest of this week, with severe storms and heavy falls likely in some areas.
Moisture-laden air interacting with a near-stationary low pressure trough has already caused a few days of wet and stormy weather in NSW this week.
On Monday, Moree picked up 52 millimeres of rain, which was its best drop in four years.
At Tenterfield, 76mm during the 24 hours to 9am on Tuesday was close to a month's worth of rain at this time of year.
Tuesday and Wednesday then saw more storms bubbling up over parts of northern and central NSW, rounding out an unsettled first half of the week.

From Thursday, an upper-level trough will move over NSW from west to east, causing the atmospheric instability to increase. As a result, both rain and storms will become more intense and widespread over NSW.
Showers and storms will build over inland districts of NSW on Thursday and gradually spread towards the east throughout the day.
Parts of every district in NSW could see some wet weather on Thursday and severe storms are likely over central and northern parts of the state.
On Friday, the most active area of rain and thunderstorms will contract to north-eastern and northern inland NSW.
Some showers and storms should also continue in other areas of central and eastern NSW.
Another low pressure trough will then cross NSW from west to east on the weekend, bringing another brief burst of rain across much of the state.
All up, some areas of northern and central NSW could see another 20mm to 30mm of rain between Thursday and Sunday. Some places will undoubtedly see more than this and others could miss out altogether.
