At the conclusion of the Merino presentation in the Cox Pavilion for the 2021 Royal Sydney Show, Schute Bell Badgery Lumby, Cooma auctioneer Ben Litchfield sold two prime lambs sold for $550 and $600 respectively in support of the RAS Foundation.
The prime Corriedale lambs, donated by Tony Manchester, Roseville Corriedales, Kingsvale via Young are estimated to dress 24-28kg.
Mr Manchester said he was delighted the lambs sold for terrific money.
"I am grateful to have the opportunity to donate my Corriedale lambs to such a worthy cause," Mr Manchester said.
Robert Ryan, managing director and chairman Schute Bell Badgery Lumby, Sydney paid $600 for one lamb while Scott Carmody, AWI, Sydney paid $550 for his lamb.
"It is such a great cause I couldn't resist buying one lamb," Mr Carmody said.
"I hope the publicity will attract more attention for the RAS Foundation.
Ben Litchfield said the RAS Foundation supports community projects in rural and regional centres.
"Projects like restoring showgrounds and upgrading amenities in small towns are high on the agenda for the RAS Foundation,' Mr Litchfield said.
"Places like White Cliffs, Kyogle and Finley have all benefited from the RAS Foundation support."
Next week during the annual display of Corriedale and prime lamb breeds, two more Corriedale lambs will be auctioned.
