A Holstein cow from Cobargo described as a beautiful example of the breed with a sensational udder has led a strong showing of Holstein females at Sydney Royal.
It was the first 'big dance' for Galba DB Janette exhibited by the Allen family of Galba Holsteins, Cobargo, but that didn't stop her impressing judge Matt Templeton of Tarwin, Vic that assessed the 42 entries.
"I've been fortunate enough to travel the world, seen a lot of shows and this cows right up there with her udder today," Mr Templeton said.
Sired by Mr D Apple Diamondback and out of Galba Aftershock Janette, the four-year-old female won senior champion female and best senior udder.

"She calved in February and on show day she producing 55 litres per day on average," Rocky Allen said.
"The plan is get her back in calf and return for the 200th (Sydney) show next year."
Commenting in best senior udder, Mr Templeton said as a young cow that has calved three times, she is a beautiful example of a cow in the Holstein breed.
"When we are trying to breed cows at home this is what we are looking; the business end of the cow. It is why we get out of bed everyday," he said.
"A comfortable winner; stand behind her she is high and wide in the rear udder, she has a beautiful median suspensory ligament that runs up through her rear udder .
"Stand beside her that fore udder blends through the body wall so well. Her teats are placed in the centre of her quarter... the udder fits the cow, it suits the whole frame of the cow"
Reserve senior female went to Calderwood Goldendreams Marg exhibited by the Strong family, while senior honourable mention was awarded to Tomargo Recluse Stanley Starbaby exhibited by Chesworth Dairy Partnership, Tomargo Recluse, Dubbo.
