There were 3437 head of mostly black, good quality cattle yarded in the April 2021 Special Weaner sale at Yass on Friday.
Although prices were $50 to $100 cheaper than last month's sale in some places, vendors were not complaining with weaner steers 280 kilograms to 400kg making from $1510 to $1890 a head, while lighter articles, around the 300kg mark, sold for upwards of 600 cents a kilogram.
Greg Anderson from M.D.JJ Anderson said the quality was once again outstanding, with a lot of weight in the cattle due to the good season the area had experienced.
"It may have been a bit softer on the last sale but it was certainly strong," Mr Anderson said.
