DRY-cold conditions meant prices were back $50 to $100 at the monthly Dunedoo store cattle sale on Friday.
A yarding of 1220 head, which was slightly down from last month, greeted buyers from across the region and beyond.
Weaner steers were in high demand and the healthy crowd of local restockers and feedlotters did not have to wait long as the first pen sold on the day, which consisted of 10 Angus steers offered by the Dent family, Cobbora Station, Cobbora, topped the category at $2000 a head.

Dunedoo stock agent Angus Stuart, Milling Stuart Pty Ltd, said cool but dry conditions had caused prices to come back from the April sale.
"The quality of the cattle here today [Friday] was on par from the last sale and the yarding was fairly similar too I think," Mr Stuart said.
"I think people may be being a little bit cautios with drier weather starting to set in a little bit, which has caused prices to be down a bit.
"Overall, I'd say prices are back probably $50-$100 from last month, but I think that is fairly consistent with the market as a whole."
The sale was conducted by Milling Stuart Pty Ltd, Dunedoo.
