On May 7 the Elders Jerilderie branch had their grand opening of their new premises.
Elders has moved out of the main street location where they have been for over 50 years to 3 Oaklands Road, Jerilderie.
A large crowd of around 100 gathered as Nick Gray, branch manager Jerilderie, welcomed everyone to the new branch.
"The expansion of yard and showroom has meant that Elders can offer a larger suite of rural products and is looking forward to growth in this area," Mr Gray said.
Ross Wells from the Willandra Merino stud, Jerilderie gave some history of the local livestock agencies that have been in Jerilderie and recalled several funny stories about ex Branch Managers and sheep running off down the main street after being driven into town.
Lachlan Boyd, Riverina Area Manager handed over a cheque for $5,000 to the Monash Kelly sculpture committee.
"Elders think it is a worthwhile project for the local town and tourism," Mr Boyd said.
"Elders has been on a long journey and is looking forward to partnering with the local clients into the future."
Pat Curtin long time Elders sales support officer recounted her time at the Jerilderie branch starting in June 1972 and ending in September 2008 - 36 years.
Ruth McRae the Murrumbidgee Council Mayor officially opened the new branch and commented on the young dynamic staff that Elders employ and the economic value that a large corporate business brings to Jerilderie while Pat Curtin cut the red ribbon.
