Australia's fencing needs have evolved rapidly over the last 20 years.

Pre-fabricated fencing; fencing knitted and woven together in patterns such as the ever popular 7-90-30, used to be available in a handful of sizes, and you had to mix and match a few products to 'create' a suitable solution for your own needs.

"These days are well and truly over," Steve Vagg, National Sales Manager for Austral Wire Products said.

"Australia's desire for fencing solutions has meant that the number of local manufacturers of fencing products have increased, as has the diversity in the product offering they produce.

"Historically, you may have had around a dozen choices of pattern to your pre-fab fence.

"You can now find closer to 30 patterns, with an offering of up to four different knot styles."

For Austral Wire, manufacturers of the GalMAX Brand of Fencing, this has meant a large scale investment by the family owned and operated business, based in the Western Suburbs of Sydney.

They have invested in a purpose built factory, in new machinery that has taken their production capacity to be one of the largest in Australia, with some of the most modern machines in the country.

"This investment has been critical to the success for manufacturing in Australia," Steve said.

"Scale creates economy, which in turn allows you to manufacture with a focus on quality and value."

Austral has developed a range of products under the GalMAX Fencing brand, to suit the needs of rural Australia.

"The range of products we produce here is quite astounding.

"We produce a range of high tensile barbed wires, soft barbed wires, high tensile and soft fencing wires, wire nettings, and once we start talking pre-fabricated fences, the list becomes enormous.

"Of particular note has been the evolution of specialised Equine Fencing and the high volume Exclusion Fencing options," Steve said.

"In recent years, roll lengths have increased and machinery capability is being pushed as we look to minimise downtime installing the products, by reducing joins.

"Our focus has been on how we can continue to learn and develop solutions that make the job of fencing easier, safer and faster to build."

All GalMAX Fencing products are manufactured in Australia, in a purpose built, modern factory in the industrial western suburbs of Sydney. Manufactured by Australians for Australian conditions, with a range of sizes and lengths to meet the needs of Australian property owners!
