A FLOOD watch has been issued for several waterways across the region - including the Peel River - with wet weather on the radar for the next few days.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) issued a flood watch for the Peel River, the Namoi River and the Gwydir River on Thursday, just before midday.
A statement from the BoM said minor riverine flooding is possible in those waterways from Thursday, as rain clouds move into the region.

The BoM said troughs moving in are expected to bring moderate rainfall, which started on Wednesday night and is expected to continue through Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
"Catchments are relatively wet from recent rainfall," the BoM's flood watch message said.
The flood watch alert is designed to give people living in these areas the earliest possible notice that flooding is possible.
If flooding occurs, an official flood warning will be urgently put out by the BoM and the State Emergency Service (SES).
Catchments likely to be affected include:
- Upper Macintyre River -minor flooding
- Gwydir River - minor flooding
- Peel River - minor flooding
- Namoi River - minor flooding

The flood watch means that people living or working along rivers and streams must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding develop.
