The Angus Youth National Roundup makes a return in 2022, when it heads to Wodonga, Victoria from January 13 to 16.

Event manager Toni Nugent said the competition allowed the next generation to build their understanding and knowledge of the beef industry across many areas including nutrition, breeding, marketing and meat quality.

"Long-lasting connections and partnerships are forged at events such as roundup," she said.

"Never underestimate the power of conversations and creating networks, you never know when opportunities present and how your networks can open doors throughout your life.

"Obviously we have to align with whatever the COVID-19 regulations will be, but the program will still cover a broad cross-section of the entire supply chain, the competition side, as well as the paraders and the junior judging, will all be a key part of it, so it will follow a similar program to previous years."

Noah Iddles, 16, will compete at Wodonga, after also competing at Toowoomba in 2020 and Armidale in 2019, where he won the Dalwhinnie Young Breeders Award, part of the prize was a Dalwhinnie Angus heifer donated by the Fredrickson family at Orange, NSW.

"I'm looking forward to getting together with everyone and taking our own team for the first time," he said.

"I enjoy talking with and meeting new people and catching up with old friends.

"I also enjoy the hard work that it takes to compete in the events and learning new things.

"You never know what roundup will offer, it's an exciting three days."
